The Blue Pearl Youth Conservatory is a tuition-free performing arts training program designed for students who are passionate about performing, or ready to discover that passion.
The conservatory provides high-quality instruction from experienced teaching artists in a supportive, disciplined, and creative environment. Students train in acting, movement, improvisation, character development, and ensemble performance while learning the collaboration, focus, and resilience required of working performers.
Students work toward fully staged theatrical productions, gaining hands-on experience throughout the rehearsal process and performing before live audiences.

The Conservatory combines performing arts instruction with the experience of developing a theatrical production from rehearsal room to stage. Students strengthen acting and performance skills while learning the discipline, collaboration, preparation, and creative responsibility required to be part of an ensemble.
No prior professional experience is required. We look for young people who are curious, creative, passionate, and ready to commit to the work required to reach their full potential as artists.

Blue Pearl believes young performers benefit from learning from artists who understand the demands of the rehearsal room and the stage. Conservatory students receive instruction from professional teaching artists who bring their experience, training, and artistic disciplines into the classroom.
Blue Pearl believes that a young person's ability to develop as an artist should not depend solely on their family's ability to afford private lessons, conservatory tuition, production fees, costumes, and performance opportunities.
The Youth Conservatory removes program tuition as a barrier while maintaining meaningful expectations for attendance, preparation, participation, and artistic growth.
Apply
Parent/guardian completes the Young Performers application.
Audition / Interview
Applicants are invited to participate in an audition and/or introductory interview.
Placement
Students are placed according to age, program availability, readiness, and production needs.
Commit
Accepted performers and their families agree to attendance, rehearsal, and participation requirements.
Productions depend on every member of the ensemble.
Students are expected to attend consistently, arrive prepared and on time, participate fully, respect fellow performers and teaching artists, practice assigned material, uphold professional standards, and remain committed through the culminating performance.
The Blue Pearl Tuition-Free Youth Conservatory is held at the Bronx River Art Center (BRAC), where our young performers come together for training, rehearsals, and artistic development.
Located in the Bronx, BRAC provides a dedicated arts environment where our students can develop their craft, collaborate with their fellow performers, and prepare for the stage.
